Hostomel Airport, located 10 kilometers northwest of Kiev, played an important role in Russia’s plans to surround the capital. The state enterprise “Antonov” and the cargo division of the design bureau Antonov are located in Hostomel. During the storming of the city by Russian troops, there was an An-225 – the largest aircraft in the world.
Unfortunately, this incredible plane was not evacuated in time, and it was destroyed during the fighting.

The beaten and bloodied Hostomel stands as a monument to Ukraine’s struggle against the Russian invading army.
